Arlington County
Arlington County Board

These recommendations include reallocating funds to improve non-car accessibility to schools, shifting the focus of resiliency funding to movable infrastructure, and ensuring climate action funds are used effectively. The FAAC's thorough analysis and recommendations aim to optimize the county's infrastructure, transportation, and facilities investments while aligning with broader county goals and addressing current economic challenges.
Arlington County School Board
The Arlington County School Board will hold a meeting this Thursday at 7 pm for general public business, including recognitions and amendments to various school board policies. One of the key legislative items on the agenda is the Resolution of the Arlington School Board Adopting Payment of Prevailing Wages. The purpose of this bill is to ensure that all workers on school construction projects are paid wages comparable to those in the local market, promoting fair labor standards and supporting local workers. Fairfax County
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will meet today at 9:30 am. The agenda features the approval of various resolutions and initiatives, such as the approval of “$200 Additional Fine for Speeding” Signs. These signs are part of the Residential Traffic Administration Program and aim to enhance road safety on Newington Road in the Mount Vernon District. They will also discuss a resolution to endorse projects for state funding. The resolution would support projects in the Braddock, Dranesville, Franconia, Hunter Mill, and Providence Districts for submission to the Commonwealth Transportation Board's FY 2026-2031 Smart Scale Program.
In addition, the Board looks to approve the Lake Accotink Sediment Monitoring Initiative, which is a partnership with the United States Geological Survey to monitor and manage sediment in Lake Accotink and Accotink Creek. They will also look to authorize the Fairfax Connector Route 798 Service Agreement with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation. This agreement would facilitate Fairfax Connector Route 798 service between Tysons West Park Transit Center and Bethesda Metrorail Station. They will also look to approve FY 2025 fare changes for Fairfax Connector as well as an associated fare equity analysis for the Fairfax Connector service.
Additionally, the meeting will include several public hearings starting at 3:30 pm, which will cover topics such as proposed amendments to the Uniformed Retirement Systems Ordinances, a workforce dwelling unit policy and program amendment, and a zoning ordinance amendment related to data centers.
Fairfax County School Board
Fairfax County School Board will meet on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Community participation is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., followed by student representative matters. Key legislative items for this meeting include the amendment of Policy 8130 concerning local school boundaries, program assignments, and school closings, the certification of election results, and the recognition of the exclusive bargaining agent. Another significant item is Board Action regarding Policy 2418, which addresses reporting student progress to parents and guardians and involves the Secondary Grading Advisory Committee.
