Prince George's County Council


The Prince George's County Council will convene at 10 am today to discuss several significant legislative matters. Key bills and resolutions on the agenda include:


  1. CB-058-2024: This bill aims to enhance public awareness of local development activities by creating a single public interface for tracking development applications. The goal is to streamline the process and make it easier for residents to stay informed about changes in their communities.

  2. CB-059-2024: This bill mandates that single-family and multifamily rental facilities disclose essential information, including ownership and mortgage holder details. The thought behind the bill is to increase transparency to help protect tenants and ensure accountability in rental housing.

  3. CB-060-2024: This legislation seeks to repeal the grant exemption from procurement competition. It would allow goods and services funded by grants to undergo open competition to increase fairness and efficiency in the county's procurement process.

  4. CR-061-2024: This resolution proposes establishing the Prince George's County Artificial Intelligence Task Force to keep the county competitive and prepare its workforce for the AI era to enhance service delivery and build public trust in AI technologies.

  5. CB-002-2024: This bill will amend the Housing Code to allow notices of violations and citations to be sent via email, provided written consent is given. This would modernize the notification process and may improve communication and compliance.

  6.
