CLPA List of Upcoming DC Area Policy Meetings (May 22-May 26)

Here are the major meetings happening in the DC Area this week.

There will be no DC Council Legislative Meeting or DC State Board of Education Public Meeting in the District of Columbia. However, in Maryland, the Charles County Board of County Commissioners will meet on Tuesday to discuss legislation and policies, such as the request for contingency funds for Healthy Families Southern Maryland program. Both the Montgomery County Council and the Prince George's County Council will hold meetings on their respective FY24 budgets.

As for Maryland School Boards in the DC Area, the Charles County Board of Education will have a Board Work Session on Monday at 6:00 pm. The Montgomery County County Board of Education will have a meeting addressing topics such as the 2023-2024 School Year Virtual Day Instruction Plan and the Traditional and Innovative School Year Calendar Modifications. However, there will be no meeting of the Prince George's County Board of Education.

In Virginia, the Alexandria City Council will hold its Second Legislative Meeting on Tuesday, where they will present the Energy and Climate Change Action Plan. The Alexandria City Board of Education will have a School Work Session on Wednesday. Arlington County Board will have a Recessed meeting this week, and the Arlington County School Board will meet on Thursday. Lastly, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will have a meeting on Tuesday at 9:30 am, while the Fairfax County School Board will meet on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
