Vote Report: DC Council approves resolution supporting the end of the economic blockade of Cuba

Yesterday, the DC Council voted and adopted resolution PR25-0113, "Sense of the Council on the Restoration of Cuban American Relations Resolution of 2023." The aim of the resolution was to state the Council's opinion that the United States should end the economic blockade of Cuba and remove Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list while emphasizing how the embargo has harmed the Cuban people. Note that resolutions do not require the mayor's signature or need to go through a congressional review.
